Dr. Simon Woodruff

Director

Dr. Simon Woodruff has over 30 years of experience in the burgeoning fusion industry, bringing a strong background and passion for advancing fusion as an economic energy source. His mission involves accelerating the development and commercialisation of fusion energy as a clean and abundant energy source for the future, with a focus on developing standard cost modelling capabilities for fusion power plants under ARPA-E. In addition to his role with Fusion Advisory Services, he serves as CEO of nTtau Digital Ltd., leading a team developing AI-enabled tools to support faster, more accurate fusion power-plant design. He is also President of the New Mexico Energy Technology Incubator, where he supports a range of early-stage energy startups working on enabling technologies for fusion, including data visualisation, AI-optimised additive manufacturing, and advanced plasma-physics analytics. Simon also leads the Clean Air Task Force’s International Working Group on Fusion Cost Analysis and has developed cost models for nearly all privately funded fusion concepts through ARPA-E sponsorship since 2017.
